In Clinton, the project primarily involves the construction of a new 345 kV transmission line and the rebuilding of a 115 kV transmission line in an existing corridor that traverses the central portion of the town and extends for approximately 6 miles from Pittsfield to Benton.
The construction of a new 345 kV transmission line will take place on the northwest side of the existing corridor next to the existing 115kV line, typically using 2-pole H-frame structures that will be approximately 75 feet in height.
Approximately one mile of the existing corridor, where it crosses Mutton Lane, will be relocated to an area closer to Interstate 95. The existing 115 kV line in this area will be rebuilt using seventeen single pole wooden structures that will be approximately 75 feet in height.
