In Augusta, the project includes the construction of a new 345 kV transmission line and the rebuilding and rerating of the existing 115 kV transmission lines in a portion of CMP’s corridor between the municipal boundaries of Whitefield and Chelsea.
In constructing the 345 kV transmission line, one steel structure averaging 100 feet in height will be erected in Augusta. Additionally, the existing 115 kV transmission lines will be rebuilt to replace the existing H-frame structures with monopole structures approximately 75 feet in height.
There will be a re-rate of 6.2 miles of 115 kV transmission line in the CMP corridor from the East Side Substation to Chelsea. Re-tensioning conductors and adjusting poles will be included in this re-rate.
