CMP’s proposed project in Minot consists of re-rating approximately 3.7 miles of an existing 115 kV transmission line (Section 61A) that runs along the Minot and Auburn municipal boundary. Re-rating generally involves modifications to existing transmission lines at various locations to correct additional "line sag” that may result from operating the line at a higher electrical capacity (not at higher volts). Re-rating of Section 61A will likely include one or all of the following: replacing certain H-frame structures, adding height to other structures (usually no more than 10 feet), and replacing the conductors (wires) at various locations. Section 61A will remain in its current location.

No permit is required for the MPRP in Minot.
