Surveyors working on behalf of CMP will be marking pole locations in the Section 60 corridor from the Kennebec
River to the Bowman Street Substation. These pole locations are for the new 115 kV transmission structures for Section 60, which will be rebuilt and re-located. The existing transmission line primarily runs on wooden H-frame structures. The rebuilt line
will run on wooden single-pole structures and one steel lattice tower at the river crossing.
Other activities such as laying timber mats, mowing temporary access ways and transporting materials and equipment to lay downs yards will be evident over the next month as the transmission line contractor prepares to start construction.
