The part of the program located in Scarborough involves work in the
existing transmission line corridor that extends from Gorham, heading
southwesterly through the western portion of Scarborough, and then into
Saco.
The project involves the construction of a new 345 kV transmission line, Section 3021, approximately in the center of the existing corridor. The new transmission line will be constructed using 19 H-frame double-pole structures and three H-frame 3-pole structures. Both types of poles are typically 75 feet in height, although specific pole heights will vary due to terrain and the need to achieve spans that will avoid or minimize impacts to natural resources.
