The project in Somerville involves the construction of a new 115 kV transmission line in the existing corridor northwest and parallel to the existing 345 kV transmission line, which runs 3.27 miles from the Windsor town line to the Washington/ Hibbert’s Gore town line. The new 115 kV line will be constructed on wooden H-frame structures ranging from 47.5 to 88 feet in height, with an average height of 61 feet, as the height of transmission line pole structures varies with the terrain and the need to achieve spans that will avoid or minimize impacts to natural resources.
