The part of the program located in Troy involves work in the existing corridor that extends through the northern portion of the town for approximately 3.5 miles, from the Detroit-Plymouth municipal boundary, southeasterly through Troy, and into Dixmont. In this corridor, the project includes:

• Rebuilding the existing 115 kV electrical transmission line. This transmission line, which currently runs on the south side of the corridor on H-frame structures averaging 45 feet in height, will be moved to the north side of the corridor and placed on single-pole structures that are typically 75 feet in height.
• Installing a new 345 kV transmission line. This new transmission line will run on H-frame structures that are typically 75 feet in height and will be located on the south side of the existing corridor, in approximately the same location as the existing 115 kV line.

Please note that structure heights will vary due to varying terrain and the need to achieve spans that will avoid or minimize impacts to natural resources.
