Hutchinson Pond

The Hutchinson Pond parcel is an 80 acre property that includes more than 1,600 feet of undeveloped shore land on Hutchinson Pond, 28 acres of wetlands, three significant vernal pools, 2,765 feet of streams and diverse vegetative habitats.

The proximity to Jamie’s Pond Wildlife Management Area and the Cobbossee-Annabessacook Focus Area enhances the value of these protected lands and regional conservation opportunities. The property will be protected from development by a conservation easement, provide ongoing wildlife habitat, water quality benefits and recreational opportunities.

The land was transferred to the Kennebec Land Trust with a $25,000 stewardship grant to maintain open fields, develop parking areas and trails and eradicate the invasive species glossy buckthorn and common buckthorn.
