The MPRP is one of the largest construction projects in Maine's history, with work in 13 of Maine's 16 counties, a total cost of $1.4 billion, and nearly 400 companies working as contractors, suppliers or consultants for the program.

This project will provide Maine with three key benefits for years to come:



Reliable Power


First and foremost, the MPRP is about creating a stronger, smarter electric grid for Maine. The new and upgraded transmission lines will improve the reliability of Maine's power transmission system, meeting federal standards and customer expectations. Environmental Stewardship


CMP has always prided itself as a good neighbor and steward of the environment. As part of the MPRP, CMP has donated nearly 5,000 acres of land rich in environmental resources to the State of Maine for conservation and preservation for generations to come.
